Well phase one of the kitchen redo is finished as of this morning. I have finished the top cabinets and am ready to share pics.
First, here is the before picture (I had taken off the door of the corner cabinet to try out the paint)...

I am very pleased with the result. It is amazing how much brighter and airier it feels with the light color. Not bad for battered laminate cabinets that we couldn't afford to replace!
Now for the bottom cabinets. I think that will be my labor day project. It doesn't look as if the weather will cooperate this weekend to get started.
On another note, I just received some sad news that my friend Jennifer's mom is home from the hospital with hospice care. She is the kind of person that makes you smile the minute you see her. Many years ago she and I were talking and discovered that when we were little girls we actually grew up in the same house! She just lived there twenty-some-odd years before me. What a coincidence! She has been battling ovarian cancer for 7 LONG years. She is such a trooper! Any thoughts and prayers will be greatly appreciated!

Your cabinets look wonderful! What brand/type of paint and primer did you use? Spray or brush? I am SO wanting to do this to my laminate (and badly beaten up) cabinets..I have not been brave enough, but the more info I can gather the better..

First, I am so sorry to hear about your friend's mom. It's such a devastating disease. We will keep her in our thoughts and pray for a comfortable passing.
But those cabinets. Amy!! You should be so very proud. They are bee-ute-E-ful!
